I am reading the paper which introduces metapath2vec . In the paper , there is a sentence that says:“In addition,meta-paths are commonly used in a symmetric way, that is, its first node type V1 is the same with the last one Vl”
I’m quiet confused . What I want to know is what is the effect of different types of start node and end node。
This is to allow random walk of arbitrary number of steps. For example, for a metapath paper-cite-paper, a random walk could start from paper nodes and jump to another paper nodes indefinitely, while if its an author-write-paper meta path, after the first jump, the walk must stop since there is no way to jump from paper nodes back to author.
